Tips to Apply Makeup for Every Eye Shape
Ever wondered, why certain technique of eye makeup that worked wonderfully on your friend’s eyes, didn’t look the same on you? You might wonder what you didn’t do right and might start doubting your skills, but take a chill pill and first ensure whether the eye makeup is right for your eye type or not. Apart from everything else, the trick to getting those perfectly hypnotizing eyes, largely depends on your eye shape too. You can make your eyes appear more beautiful than they normally are, by applying the right technique of eye makeup. Your eye area can be enhanced better by applying makeup according to your eye shape.
Types of eyes:
- Round
- Almond
- Small
- Deep Set
- Hooded
It is important to line, prime, color and define your eyes to complement their shape.
1) Round eyes:
- Use a medium to dark toned eye liner from your iris out along your upper lash line.
- Don't line your lower lash line.
- As you prime your kids, make sure that your base matches your skin tone.
- For eyeshadow color, apply a medium-toned eye shadow from your lash line up till the eye crease.
- Define round eyes on the outer one-third of your eye lids by putting on a medium to dark eyeshadow.
2) Almond eyes:
- Apply medium-dark toned eye liner along the outer half of both your upper and lower lash line.
- Use a primer that is a shade lighter than your skintone. Apply the primer over your lid and brow bone.
- Apply a medium toned eyeshadow across your eyelid from the inner corner up till the crease. You can further define your almond eyes by using a dark toned eyeshadow from the top of your lash line to the outer corner of your eyes.
3) Small eyes:
- Use a medium toned eye liner on both upper and lower lash line starting from your iris. Ensure that you don't line your whole eyelid.
- Prime your eyes using an eyeshadow base that is lighter to your skintone. Apply it all over the eyelids and brow bone.
- Apply medium eyeshadow in your eyelid crease, and then blend slightly upwards.
- Apply medium-dark toned eyeshadow above your iris along the lash bed to define your eyes better.
4) Deep set eyes:
- Line along your upper and lower lash line. Apply a medium toned liner across the width of your iris.
- Prime your lids using a light and non-frosty eyeshadow base all over the lids.
- Apply a medium toned shade from one corner to the next above crease. Gently fade the color into your brow bone.
- While defining, use a medium-dark toned eyeshadow along the outer edge of your iris to the outer corner of your eyelid.
5) Hooded eyes:
- Use darker tone eye liners to line at the outside of your iris.
- Use a primer that matches your skintone all over your lids and brow bone.
- Apply a medium tone eyeshadow at the place where your natural crease would normally be, from outer corner to inner corner of your eye.
- For definition, use a darker tone over eye pencil and then sweep upwards at outer corner.
