Justin Bieber reportedly got into it with a man at Coachella party over the weekend, allegedly punching the unnamed person after observing him grabbing a woman by the throat. According to TMZ, the 24 year-old singer went "ballistic" after observing the alleged assault and began screaming at the attacker to stop, to which the man reportedly replied "go fuck yourself."
When the man would not release his grip on the woman, Bieber reportedly intervened and "punched [the] guy in the face and threw him against a wall." The La Quinta Police Department confirmed the incident to Billboard on Monday morning (Aug. 16), reporting that officers responded to a call at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday (Apr. 14) and met with residential security over a report of a battery at a residence in La Quinta, California, located in the Coachella valley.
"Officers contacted the victim who declined to press charges for the alleged battery and had no visible injuries at the time of police contact," read the police report. "Investigating officers responded to the residence where the alleged battery occurred but were unable to locate any witnesses or evidence of a battery." At press time the battery was unconfirmed and no further information was available. Police added that the alleged victim "indicated that artist, Justin Bieber, was involved in this incident," though no witnesses or statements had been received at press time to indicate his involvement.
TMZ reported that the person Bieber punched has not been arrested and that no one reported the choking incident. Bieber was not performing at Coachella, but was spotted on social media posing with the Walmart "Yodeling Kid" Mason Ramsey. A spokesperson for Bieber could not be reached for comment at press time.
