so it's interesting that my outfit of the week comes from their day of the dead collection launched about two weeks ago. it's an interesting collection described as : and interesting collection of lace, crochet, lively florals and aztec detailing. eerie and distressed detailing mixed with skeleton prints, acid wash denim and oversize cobweb prints.
featured are :
the belly top (scream) from the day of the dead collection
the belt low slung around hips to add rock chick
the blazer is from the day of the dead collection. worn open. not closed.
the strappy sandals peeking out from below the harem pant cuff
long legged harem pants balance out the belly top making it less 15 year old girl
the clutch bag as a strap over that print on the blazer is too much. the red draws the eye to the writing on the chest. not too matchy matchy.
leopard print raybans to add a mixed up vibe.
the belly top should be a little too 15 year old for me but i think this is one trend that is all in the way you wear it. yes it's a little 1991. but, think and picture some skinny jeans and spiky heels with this bad boy? yeah, working for you isn't it....
the blazer on the other hand took me a while to like. i initally found it a bit emo at first and a bit gothy goth. but now, i think i like it. it needs a plain pants or skirt though. because the print is a bit crazy looking at a distance. but, skinny jeans or even a pair of black shorts would see you through. the harem pants i selected were a nice quirky very on season touch though.
