After Instagramming a picture of himself stroking a tiger from the Bowmanville Zoo in May, Justin Bieber got into some serious hot water with animal rights group PETA. Soon after, Toronto Animal Services sent the singer a notice of violation for "exhibiting" the animal.
But the zoo itself also got into some trouble, with owner Michael Hackenberger having been recently charged for animal cruelty, specifically, for brutally whipping a young tiger.
The zoo has since announced it will close on October 10 after 97 years in operation, thanks to reduced attendance from a horde of negative publicity in the last year.
In ode to the closure and to help raise money for the relocation of the animals, reports say Bieber, his siblings and father will be holding a "special event" outside the zoo on Sunday. But before you pack up the fam and make your way down to the 401, the price for the Bieber Family Fun Day tickets are an astounding $295 each. According to DurhamRegion.com, all attendees must have a ticket including children and babies-in-arms.
